Inside the darkness of my mind, I sit and breathe so slow, As dawn breaks soft and dreams unwind - Birds serenade the flow. I hear the world they start to sing, My cats demand their feed. The phone vibrates to the tablet's ping And crickets chirp of word and deed. Then comes the gong - time to awake, I check my funds and greet my friends, While of my morning chai partake. So day begins and nighttime ends.

They changed the clocks - Again. On the other side of the world, and now I’m out of sync. But still - The sun rises at the same time every day. The blackness shifts to light at the same unhurried pace. The birds warm up the same way, their piercing cries of predawn coalescing into the raucous chorus of First Light, then softening into the melody of the Rising Sun. And we continue. They’ll be changing our clocks soon.
