They changed the clocks - Again. On the other side of the world, and now I’m out of sync. But still - The sun rises at the same time every day. The blackness shifts to light at the same unhurried pace. The birds warm up the same way, their piercing cries of predawn coalescing into the raucous chorus of First Light, then softening into the melody of the Rising Sun. And we continue. It is cool. Tendrils of chill, predawn breeze caress my skin in the silvery-grey twilight. Muted pastels swirl across my blurry retina, serenaded by the sporadic, intermittent, piercing cries of the vanguard of the dawn chorus in the shimmering silver light. I close my eyes against the world... And then I open them, pick up a pen - the gong sounds. The sun is warm on my skin. Dawn, golden and green, spreads before my feet.
