A silver currency that has been printed and used since the early times of the Ottoman Empire. The first coin was printed in Bursa by Orhan Gazi in 1327. Akçe was the main currency of the Ottoman Empire. Although this currency did not have a date printed on it in the first periods, the practice of printing dates on the coins was started with the Sultan Bayezid I.
