The batch has been split up into smaller and still profitable batches to increase visibility.
Each Falcon 9 launch can deliver ~60 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit. By the end of May 2021, SpaceX had launched a total of more than 1,730 Starlink satellites. According to Elon, Starlink has already reached 69,420 users in its beta testing group. Elon confirmed the statement, saying "All 72 orbital aircraft are activated in August and several other improvements, except in the polar regions, to enable global coverage, which will take another 6 months". The main dishes customers are currently installing cost over a thousand dollars, but only retail for half of them. With a service fee of a hundred dollars a month, SpaceX has a lot of money coming in but it ain't cheap. Obviously, the startup cost for setting up a satellite group is no small amount. Elon says it's going to make between $5 and 10 billion in Starlink's investment before it turns a profit. But in the coming years, it will certainly bring huge revenue for Elon Musk's SpaceX.
I guess this is my way of saying i give back too?
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/oehjkf/be_aware_an_iranian_group_is_scamming_people_by/. I am not Iranian. Hi! I am Iranian and I was looking forward for the starlink internet to be available in my region so that we can experience the uncensored and high speed/quality internet connection. But since the starlink won't be available for my country and other countries like north-Korea, I want to report a website that is trying to sell fake pre-orders for starlink internet! They copied the official starlink website design and translated the captions so that it looks legit, and they are scamming people. This is the website: http://starlinkiran.com/ I want this domain to be reported and closed asap because there are a lot of people who fall into this trap because of hoping for a good internet! Thanks y'all 💖
"In May, Musk said that Starlink has received more than 500,000 preorders for its satellite-based internet service and foresees no technical issues in meeting the expected demand."I think the cost of purchase is still pretty high, and the stability isn't that great. But the more sattelites, the better the stability so i wonder what that's going to bring in the future!
A large investor appears. Interested in Starlink or just here for the market?
Space Exploration Technologies Corp.'s (SpaceX) Starlink, satellite internet service Starlink, is on its way to spread satellites for enabling worldwide coverage, bring internet onboard popular commercial airliners and demonstrate consistent revenue growth. Additionally, the company has no plans for an initial public offering (IPO) for Starlink, despite some rumors claiming that it might go public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). These details come through an interview given by SpaceX's president and chief operating officer, (COO) Ms. Gwynne Shotwell, and a series of tweets by the company's chief executive, Mr. Elon Musk, as the pair look forward to testing their company's largest rocket built to-date next month.
I just read this on twitter, would you be interested in a real Starlink IPO? If this goes live, all my investment earnings will go towards that IPO 😂
