The Zenny - Zeni - Zenī Zeni is a currency used in various works of Akira Toriyama, including Dragon Ball, Dub & Peter 1, and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. The Zeni symbol is a capital "Z" with two vertical lines through it, similar to the dollar sign. According to Toriyama, one Zeni equals one yen. However, in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, 100 Zeni equals 150 yen, approximately 1.12 US cents for 100 Zeni today.
